VALPARAISO | Two adults and five teens were arrested Monday at home on Valparaiso's southeast side after police received an anonymous tip about illegal drug use.

Brandon Bigelow, 29, of Valparaiso, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance. Johnny Denham, 19, was charged with visiting a common nuisance.

Two 16-year-old boys and three 17-year-old girls were charged with visiting a common nuisance.

Police went to a home in the 2400 block of Marshall Drive and talked to four people outside. Police said the officer could smell marijuana on some of them, and they admitted they had smoked earlier.

Police were allowed inside, where they found three people in a room, where drug paraphernalia was found.

All seven people were taken into custody. Bigelow and Denham were taken to Porter County Jail. The five juveniles were taken to the Porter County Juvenile Detention Center.
