VALPARAISO | A German shorthaired pointer escaped Tuesday from the Porter County Animal Shelter and the public is warned the dog is considered aggressive and should not be approached.

The dog is described as having a black, white and brown-colored coat and a brown head, according to the sheriff's department.

The dog was last seen near the Essex Park subdivision, west of the shelter south of U.S. 30 on Ind. 2.
