The Hebron Fire Dept. holds a food drive titled "Stop, Drop and Donate." All proceeds from the event are donated to the food pantry at United Methodist Church in Hebron.
This year, the event is being held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. One reason Stop, Drop and Donate is so unique is the way in which the items are collected. People who wish to donate can simply leave their donated items in a brown paper bag on their porch or at the end of their driveway, firefighters will be around town in the firetrucks that day to collect them. Items can also be donated at the Patz grocery store lobby and at the fire station.
All donations benefit less fortunate families from the local community. Items in particular need this year include peanut butter, spaghetti sauce, pasta, soups, cereal, canned fruit, skillet dinners, toothpaste, shampoo, and laundry soap.
