Mental Health America of Porter County is a small, not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to promote mental wellness throughout Porter County.
Mental Health America of Porter County is launching a new support group for family members and friends of individuals who are living with a mental illness. TLC is an open, peer to peer support group that provides a safe, stigma free environment where individuals can feel safe sharing their feelings, experiences, and asking questions. The group will be offering information about relaxation techniques, noncompliance, conflict resolution, mental illnesses and other applicable topics.
It will also provide group members with lists of resources.
The first meeting will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. March 13 at Mental Health America of Porter County, 402 E. Indiana Ave. TLC will continue to meet the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month.
