The members of Kappa Kappa Kappa, IOTA Chapter announced the recipients of the 2013 Tri Kappa Scholarships.
Tri Kappa is a philanthropic sorority dedicated to promoting charity, culture and education both locally and throughout the state of Indiana. Each year the sorority awards $15,000-$20,000 in scholarships to local students in three categories including fine arts, merit and vocational/technical education. Tri Kappa members work to raise funds throughout the year in order to award student scholarships and to support numerous not for profit agencies in Porter County. Through the support of community members who purchase pecans and nuts each fall, attend the annual Taste of Valparaiso in May and support the Tri Kappa Used Book Collection & Sale every October, the sorority is able to raise money to provide funding to worthy causes both locally and statewide. Sorority members have raised funds to contribute to the YMCA, Housing Opportunities, United Way, VNA, Boys and Girls Club, Opportunity Enterprises and many other agencies and individuals in the greater Valparaiso community.
This year's recipients are Zachary Meyer, Charlie Crowley, Austin Pittman, Victoria Perez, Natalie Girman, Caitlyn Gear, Alyssa Jones, Taylor Woods, Maddisen Brennecke, Emma Foster and Cameron Tripp.
