PORTER TOWNSHIP | Two boys, ages 12 and 13 years, have been arrested by Porter County Sheriff Department detectives in a string of thefts and vandalism in the Springwood Estates subdivision.

Residents of 31 homes reported damage early Saturday morning including damage to landscaping lights and lamp posts and damage and thefts from vehicles. The bulk of the incidents occurred along Springwood Drive. IncidentsĀ also were reported from residents along Wenatchee Place, Appalachian Way, Allegheny Drive, Carpathian Drive and Teton Court.

The two boys were charged with multiple counts of theft and criminal mischief through Porter County Juvenile Court, according to a press release issued Tuesday afternoon by the Porter County Sheriff's Department.

The 12-year-old lived in the subdivision and the 13-year-old is from Lakes of the Four Seasons.
