Up and coming park

Frank Westerlund, from Gariup Construction of Gary, works Wednesday at the Central Park Plaza site in downtown Valparaiso. Construction of the amphitheater at the south end of the park, located on Lafayette Street between Indiana Avenue and Lincolnway, is on schedule to be completed by the end of the year. The city expects to seek bids for the remaining park work in December for construction beginning in the spring. The park is scheduled to be open in mid-2011.
