VALPARAISO | A Valparaiso High School student was arrested Thursday morning after police dogs sniffed out marijuana in his car.
Police and their K-9 partners from Valparaiso, Porter, Chesterton, Gary and Porter County Sheriff's Department checked cars in the Valparaiso High School parking lot.
Police said one of the dogs indicated it smelled drugs in an SUV. The student who drove the SUV was called to the parking lot.
Trevor Heneka, 18, told officers there may be drugs in the car, according to police reports.
Police found marijuana and a metal grinder in his car.
Heneka was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
