VALPARAISO | The Valparaiso Lions Club will help put old used eyeglasses to good use through the Lions Eyeglass Recycling program. Collection boxes are located around town with the Lions logo on them.
These locations are: Shorewood Forest Clubhouse, St. Theresa of Avila, Fifth Third Bank on Washington Street, The Valparaiso Public Library, the Banta Senior Center, Philips Ace Hardware, the Bethesda Resale Shop, the VNA Horton Hospice Center, McColly Real Estate, Rittenhouse Senior Living, the LTF Eye Clinics, Dr. Heather Joswiak’s office, Northwest Indiana Eye & Laser Center, Dr. Eric Friedman’s office, Vision Point, Wal-Mart Optical Shop and C&B Optical.
The Valparaiso Lions collect between 3,000 and 3,500 pairs of glasses each year. Used glasses are cleaned, catalogued, and bagged through the recycling program and then used on mission trips to underprivileged areas. Donate used glasses and “Help the Lions help the blind."
