HAMMOND | A Valparaiso man was sentenced Tuesday to about eight years in prison for receiving child pornography, federal court records state.
Terrance Young pleaded guilty to the charge in July in return for federal prosecutors agreeing to dismiss a count of possessing child pornography that was pending against him.
Federal agents secured a warrant to search Young's home in December 2011, where they found multiple photos of young girls engaged in sexual acts with adults, according to the indictment.
The plea agreement states federal agents found more than 600 images.
As part of his sentencing, Young will register as a sex offender and faces 10 years of supervised release after his eight-year prison term, court records show.
