Spooktacular Fun Camp for 3 to 5 year olds

Kids 3 to 5 years old will enjoy decorating pumpkins and making a costume in the Discovery Cottage session from 9:00 to 11:00 AM on October 28 through 31st. A Halloween costume parade and party take place on the 31st. The price is $44/56.

NEW Golf Simulator upgrade Creekside Golf Course

Keep your golf game sharp through the winter months. Play the fully upgraded golf simulators at Creekside , 2355 Clifford Road. State of the art software and hardware have replaced the existing system, with more than 30 course options to play. Call 219.531.PUTT (7888) for hours and tee times.

Friday Nigth Science Club Oct. 11 for 6 to 12 year olds

Action Science instructors provide safe, fun and sometimes messy projects to get kids excited about science in this one and a half hour session, 6:30 to 8 PM! Sign up for the next class, Eye on Science, online or over the phone with Valpo Parks, held at Discovery Cottage located at 1155 Harrison. Price of $35 includes class and materials; $47 for those residing outside city limits.

Science Seekers and Little Builders together

Tuesdays and Thursdays from November 5 – 21, 3 to 5 year olds can have two great experiences in one day: Science Seekers in the morning and Little Builders in the afternoon! Kids bring their own lunch for a break in between the morning science theme to the afternoon building activity. Science Seekers is $50/62; Little Builders is $44/56 (Little Builders meets for one more class on Tuesday, November 26.)

NEW Monster Dash Halloween Run

Sign up for the newest special event of Fit City and the Valpo Parks. October 27 is the inaugural Monster Dash. It includes a 1K Family Fun Run as well as a 5K race, beginning and ending at Central Park Plaza in downtown Valpo. Dress as your favorite super hero, villain or fairy tale character for this costume fun run. Stroller friendly. 1K is $15, 5K is $25 or $30 for both.

Junior 202 Golf Instruction on Saturdays

Each Saturday from October through December, youth 12 and older with golf experience can participate in these two-hour sessions. Refresher classes on scoring with the short-game, full swing work or on-course management are some of the topics. Price is only $30 per two-hour class, plus range balls. Youth Coed Volleyball registration

Grades one through six can learn and play volleyball this winter in this 8-week program. VU volleyball players will run the practices, making it fun to learn the basics of the game. All practices and games are at the Valparaiso Boys & Girls Club. Price is $65/77 ($35 less if a member of the Boys & Girls Club). Registration ends on December 20th.

Group Hayrides at Rogers-Lakewood

Group hayride reservations begin in mid September and run through November 3. The hay wagon is completely redone with new seating, side rails and more. It’s a great gathering for family outings, service groups, youth organizations and more. The hour and half events are available Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Price is $60 for city residents, or $72.
