VALPARAISO | An upcoming performance of “Almost, Maine” by Valparaiso Theatrical Company will help support Porter County Aging and Community Services’ ramp fund.

Local actors will be presenting the fundraising show at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Porter County Expo Center and Fairground’s Buggy Wheel Pavilion, 215 Division Road.

Tickets are $10 and are available at the PCACS offices, 1005 Campbell St., or online

Bruce Lindner, PCACS executive director, said the funds raised through the performance will help the agency build ramps for residents who need assistance accessing their homes.

“We are happy to partner with the Valparaiso Theatrical Company to not only bring a great show to the stage but also continue to help those individuals who need ramps at their homes and therefore, improve their quality of life,” he said.

“Almost, Maine,” by John Cariani, is a show about looking for, finding, keeping, losing and holding onto love. The show is appropriate for all ages except young children.

Deb Porter, charity liaison with the Valparaiso Theatrical Company, said the main mission of the group is to help nonprofits reach their goals.

“We are dedicated to providing quality theatre and using the talent and skills of our actors, technical and production crew to give back to our community in ways that will improve the quality of life in our region,” she said. “By allowing a significant percentage of the proceeds from our shows to go to nonprofit organizations in the region, we can help a variety of worthy causes succeed in their missions.”

The cast includes Beverly Adkins, Zack Alfredson, Amy Aurelio, Bill Carns, Linda Didelot, Ed Griffith, Carla Heiser, Chloe Hoeksema, Michael “Doc” Kuhn, John Lattuada, Eric McCann, William Milhans, Trish Neary, Donna Rettwe, Kerianne Valuckis and Matt Valuckis. Directed by Joe Culley, “Almost, Maine” is presented with special permission from Dramatist Play Service Inc.
