VALPARAISO | A long vacant lot on prime real estate along U.S. 30 could be the home to a new White Castle restaurant.
The Valparaiso Site Review Committee will hear a proposals Tuesday for a White Castle and additional development on the southeast corner of U.S. 30 and Sturdy Road.
Jeff Shetler, with MS Consulting in Columbus, Ohio, confirmed his company has been hired by White Castle to do the initial planning for a free-standing restaurant at that intersection. Shetler declined to give any more details about the property.
The Site Review Committee on Tuesday is also scheduled to hear from Andreas Kyres, with Kyres Realty LLC, about a development called Valparaiso Square Plaza. Kyres could not be reached Friday for comment on the development.
A small motel used to sit on the land, but was razed years ago.
The site review Committee meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday at City Hall, 166 Lincolnway.
