VALPARAISO | Valparaiso police are asking for the public's help identifying two people regarding the theft of a wallet and $3,000 in unauthorized charges on stolen credit cards.

Valparaiso police said a woman shopping Sunday at Walmart in Valparaiso reported her wallet was stolen while she was at the store.

Included in her wallet were three credit cards, and after checking with the credit card company police learned that more than $3,000 in purchases had been made at the Target store in Merrillville. The purchases were made within an hour of the theft.

Police are seeking the identity of the two people in the photos taken at the Merrillville Target store.
