VALPARAISO | Police are investigating a rash of thefts from cars that reportedly occurred early Tuesday.

Ten thefts were reported in the areas of Shaker Drive, Eisenhower Avenue, Hollandale Drive, Flemming Road, Penwick Drive and Truman Avenue, police said.

Items taken include GPS systems, tools, wallets and purses, laptop computers, radar detectors and other personal items, according to police.

Anyone with information about the thefts are encouraged to contact police at (219) 462-2135 or submit a text tip to Tip411 by dialing 847-411 and entering the keyword Valpo as the first word in the message field prior to sending your message.
