VALPARAISO | The city's Ethics Commission has two new members.
The Greater Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce named Analisa Warring to fill its position on the board, and Porter Regional Hospital appointed Rev. Mike Porter to serve as its representative.
Warring replaces Linda Reyes-Popovich on the commission, and Porter replaces Jim Spanopoulos.
Warring is vice president of branch development for Regional Federal Credit Union. Porter serves as chaplain and director of pastoral services for the hospital. Commission members serve three-year terms and can serve a maximum of three consecutive terms.
In addition to the chamber and the hospital, the commission has a member appointed by Valparaiso University and one representing Pratt Industries. The fifth member is an at-large position chosen by the other four.
The commission helps interpret and enforce the ethics ordinance guidelines on fairness in hiring and supervision, gifts and honorariums, the use of public property and conflicts of interest. For more information or to request assistance or file a complaint, contact the commission at City Hall, (219) 462-1161.
