The Indiana State Police issued an advisory Saturday, urging drivers to be careful of potentially hazardous conditions on interstates I-65 and I-80/94 in Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties.

Indiana State Police reported numerous vehicles have slid off roads, rolled over or crashed.

Weather conditions worsened through today's early morning hours with new snow falling, high wind gusts and subzero temperatures. These poor conditions have resulted in the formation of black ice on many roadways, bridges and ramps.

INDOT crews have been spreading salt and abrasives, but Indiana State Police caution motorists to reconsider travel plans or, if travel is necessary, take alternate routes.
