How many times have you left a performance at the Star Plaza Theatre saying or hearing, “Great show.”
It happens to me almost every time I attend a show at the gem in Merrillville. It might be similar for you.
Those great shows are coming to an end at the Star Plaza Theatre, with the last event planned as the Oak Ridge Boys Christmas Show Dec. 17.
It’s been a remarkable run since opening in 1979. The Star Plaza has featured some of the best acts for fans who have enjoyed the comfortable venue, convenient location and parking.
How many shows have you attended, and what are your favorites?
Along with the theater’s final run schedule in Thursday’s A&E section, we launched an opportunity for you to share your Star Plaza memories with all of our readers here and elsewhere.
It’s easy. Access a form at nwi.com/starplaza to post your special memories — text, photos, videos, ticket stubs. We’ll share them online and some in print as the Star Plaza hosts its last shows.
Honoring our veterans
You can make Veterans Day special this year for a friend or family member in the Region who served or is serving our country.
Send us a letter about a special veteran in your lives. What did their service or sacrifices mean to you?
If you're a veteran, send us a letter about the biggest personal takeaways from your service.
Send your thoughts in letters up to 150 words to email@example.com or mail them to Letters to the Editor, 601 W. 45th Ave., Munster, IN 46321.
If available, also email or enclose a photo of the veteran, along with the veteran's name and branch of service and your name, city/town of residence and a phone number where we can reach you to verify the letter.
Please take time to do this today or early this week. All veteran-themed letters must be received by Wednesday for use in a special presentation next weekend.
Thanks for reading us. Please contact me with any questions about The Times or our many publications.
