Spring is here, and you won’t want to miss out on the many events and festivals throughout the Region.
We can help you find out through our expanded weekly 219 entertainment section, our Health & Fitness sections on Fridays and our Your Family section, published the first Friday of every month.
All of these sections have calendars and include plenty of tips on where to go and what to see.
“There’s a lot to do and eat and drink in Northwest Indiana, and we focus on our area,” said features editor Kerry Erickson. “It’s not cheap to go to Chicago and take the whole family.”
Our sections, particularly 219, offer a taste of Chicago but mostly cover Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties. And we find there’s a lot to offer.
“I’m always finding things out,” said food writer and 219 editor Eloise Valadez. “I love the food scene.”
Erickson and Valadez are noticing more festivals coming our way, particularly with food trucks and craft beer vendors.
If you haven’t spent time with 219 since it debuted last September, take a look on Thursday and make it a habit each week. You’ll find a section made-to-order for Region activities.
Same for Health & Fitness, which has become a mainstay on Fridays. We recently published a full roundup of running events for the entire season, and each Friday we include races of interest.
Your Family wraps around the Health & Fitness section on the first Friday of each month, and each time it includes an extensive calendar of activities for the family.
Don’t miss the May 5 Your Family, which will put a spotlight on day trips from the Region.
Enjoy the busy seasons ahead.
