Office sought: State representative, District 19
Political experience: Precinct committeeman since 2008. Former secretary, Crown Point Republican Party. Delegate, Republican State Convention, 2010 and 2012.

Bachelor of Science in engineering from Valparaiso University.
Experienced management consultant.
Former manager at large union factory.
What prompted your decision to run for this office?
I want this area to thrive again. I'm tired of politicians promising to fix our struggling economy and raise stagnant household incomes, without having the credentials or ideas to accomplish these goals.
Top three goals
Expand our job market. Wages are stagnant due to insufficient inflow of money into our community. A commuter bus line, copying Valpo's successful model, can provide better access to jobs at minimal cost to taxpayers.
Improve accountability in government. I want to create a rule that all spending bills include evaluation and sunset provisions. Force lawmakers to put their promises in writing, and let taxpayers off the hook if promised results are not delivered.
In my job, I consult companies on how to use data and computers to improve efficiency and make better management decisions. I want to expand use of computer systems by Indiana government to improve efficiency, convenience and transparency.
Why should voters choose you?
My education and experience as a management consultant have given me the tools to be an effective economic leader and advocate for the region's interests. I help private sector businesses thrive in a competitive market; I can do the same for our district.
What would you do on your first day in office?
I will introduce myself to all the other representatives and senators from the region, from both parties, and propose we have dinner together to discuss forming a region caucus. The interests of the region must come before party.
What else would you like to tell us?
I believe in and love the region. I grew up here, attending Lake Street, Taft Junior High, and Crown Point High School. I attended Valpo for undergraduate and Purdue for graduate school. My wife, Ally, and I are Crown Point homeowners.
