The sequester is truly a critical step in the monumental effort of reducing the federal deficit. Hopefully it will also serve as a down payment toward our $16 trillion national mortgage.
The designers of this law meant it as a heads-up to allow time for and welcome appropriate constructive revisions to this law. The cuts were across the board, everyone having the same percentage of reductions, with plenty of time for any needed revisions.
The only reactions so far are the belated whiners and complainers griping about the gloom and doom effects on their area, but no constructive suggestions. Any suggestions made now under crisis deadline conditions are not likely to allow enough input to deeply and judiciously deliberate.
Of course, there's always the lasting harm and gloom of a national, and maybe even a worldwide bankruptcy and depression. It is monumentally better that we start a serious payment plan now.
