After contentious election, be sure to thank voters

Thankfully, the elections are over. To those who won, I pray you do your job, not feather your nest. To those who lost, maybe you are better off.

In the past month or so we have all witnessed the quality of our personal lives go downhill as we have been subjected to unending political ads on television and the mailbox stuffed beyond capacity with junk mail.

Too bad it was all things taken out of text, half truths, and quite possibly outright falsehoods, all designed to try to get us to vote for a particular candidate.

I saw only one person, from the president on down to the local level, be gracious enough to thank us for our vote. I await any or all people, winners and losers, who ran for election to take the time, and at their own expense, to thank us for our time and effort casting our ballot.

Perhaps, this small lack of courtesy is in reality the true mark of the people involved within our political process.
