Rich James' Mar. 20 column about ethics appears to express puzzlement as to the definition between right and wrong.

The Apostle Paul, in his letter to the Philippians, had little doubt as to the difference. In Philippians 4:8 he states, "Whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think on these things."

This statement by Paul leaves very little to misinterpretation. I applaud Police Chief Mark Becker for evidently upholding these virtues over time. He is to be highly commended for such adherence to these principles.

They are for everyone, not just the few, avoid victimization of the many and make no reference to one's lot in life. One's lot in life has no bearing on being ethical.
