National health care works well elsewhere

National health care dominates the current national debate. Of course, the cons will be making noise about freedom, an idea that the vested interests will link to specious arguments to make them appealing. Yet we find ourselves in an age when national health care is a viable and real course of action. Indeed, progressive nations like Switzerland, Scandinavian countries, Germany and others are making it work, without citizens suffering from lack of freedom.

I would simply wish to present my card and let the folks who specialize in treatment do their job, then go home and not worry about having only a tin-plate HMO, and not the gold or platinum plans: No corridor deductible or decisions ineluctable ("Either thumb or finger has to go, because the contract says it's so") No medi-gap, no yippity yap -- just lots of very careful care because the people want it.

There. Let us stand behind this reasonable, insightful, caring president. Lean hard on your reps.
