Ask who's giving to candidates, what they expect in return
President Barack Obama raised more than $222 million for his re-election campaign last year. That is three times more than all the Republican candidates combined.
I don't think the money is coming from the middle class or disadvantaged. It's coming from the special interests that profit from his policies. If you think American government was hijacked by special interests tied to big business, you ain't seen nothing yet.
Apparently, there is way more money involved in expanding government's power to decide who deserves what than in promoting limited government and the responsibility and freedom of individuals and the private sector.
We should ask who is giving all this money and why. Few people give money they don't expect to get back with interest. Government should have less influence, not more, on who has what. Take away the cheese, and the rats go away.
