Recently published opinions on immigration keep calling for comprehensive reform of this federal program without explaining what’s wrong with our immigration system. We accomplished immigration reform in 1986 and 1996, yet we have more illegal immigrants than ever.

One way we can achieve an immigration system that will work is to rid our country of politicians who protect those who violated our immigration laws.

What message did the president send to the millions illegally here when he decided to hand out work visas and halt deportations of at least 1 million illegally here?

At the state level, Attorney General Greg Zoeller refuses to defend Indiana’s immigration law even after the Supreme Court ruled these state-based laws are constitutional.

State Rep. Mara Candelaria Reardon, D-Munster, fought Indiana’s illegal immigration bill, SB 590, from the day it was introduced until the day it passed. Bad politicians are the reason our immigration laws aren't working.
