I would like to know if the people trying to ban the rifle referred to as an assault weapon are also trying to ban clips, bullets or anything else relating to any "sporting rifle used for target shooting."
Do people who march and complain, like the Rev. Jesse Jackson, remember Richard Speck? He killed eight student nurses on the South Side of Chicago. Did he use a gun? No, he did all this with a hunting knife.
Did the media or anyone else call it an ''assault knife'?
People are responsible for the acts that they choose, and only they should be punished, not the general public.
Many states have done away with the death penalty which should be the norm across the nation. No bans, no marches, no claiming the person had a hard life or is misunderstood because he might be mentally ill. If he is a clear and present danger, get rid of him or her.
Ban the people, not objects used sensibly by the majority of the public.
