Bush should have opted for a veterans hospital

How much more appropriate, sensible and charitable it would have been for George W. Bush to have proposed that the hundreds of millions of dollars that were spent in building his presidential library in Texas recently could have been better spent in erecting a desperately needed veterans hospital to provide care for the many thousands of physically and mentally injured veterans whose lives have been so drastically changed as a result of Bush-Cheney warfare.

The ramifications of this decade-long illicit war has now and forever will affect every aspect of our lives as American citizens.

Who knows? A state-of-the-art veterans hospital (with the words "Mea Culpa" engraved above the main doors) just might have soothed Bush's conscience a bit — if he does indeed have one.
