Change traffic near railroad tracks in Valparaiso

The reconfiguration of Calumet Avenue between the railroad tracks and Evans Avenue has caused terrible traffic backups and delays after the train goes through. Now there's word of adding turn signals to the lights that will delay traffic even more.

So let's try my solution. Let's end Evans Avenue at Valparaiso Street so it no longer can reach Calumet Avenue. Then Evans Avenue east of the existing light at Calumet Avenue has to be rerouted through the Old Fairgrounds Park and merge into Calumet Avenue further north. We will hand out helmets and bright orange vests to be worn by the walkers and joggers that now frequent the park.

Now that we no longer need the traffic light, we can haul it over to Roosevelt Road for their project and save the city some money.
