Columnist Rich James has the audacity to criticize Lake County Councilman Eldon Strong for wanting to cut spending in Lake County government.

And while Rich James thinks it is OK to comment negatively on Strong's record, he forgets Eldon has served many years as a police officer and public servant in a caring and low-profile manner.

At the same time James is showing his hatred of all things Republican, I am certain he has voted for virtually every one of the 50+ Democrats sent to prison since 2000. As is common in Lake County, he likely votes a straight "D" ticket.

As I've heard said by many of these staunch Democrats, "If Jesus were running as a Republican and Hitler as a Democrat, I would vote for Hitler because he cares about me."

How sad that a political hack gets to have a continuing column in The Times.
