I read with interest a recent short sports article regarding NAIA Academic All-Americans and wish to add my congratulations to the student-athletes from Purdue University Calumet who earned this distinction. It is a testament to their hard work and dedication.

In my mind, Academic All-Americans are the All-Americans.

Unfortunately, the article omitted Rebecca Dill, who also earned this recognition. Dill plays basketball for Calumet College of St. Joseph, which is a member of the same conference as Purdue Calumet.

Rebecca is an outstanding individual who is a marvelous example for all students from this area. Her achievements off the court are easily as notable as her achievements on the court. She is a true asset to whatever endeavor she pursues.

I was privileged to have her as a student, and we at Calumet College of St. Joseph are privileged to have her as one of our student-athletes.

Therefore, we need to extend hearty congratulations to Rebecca on gaining this honor as well.
