How absurd and sad that Dan Hallowell (and others like him) feel compelled to defend President Barack Obama and his nanny-state policies by attacking writers to this paper.
Hallowell's bible, Politico, is not infallible. Obama called George W. Bush "unpatriotic" for running up the debt. It is factual that Obama has far exceeded Bush's spending rate in only four years.
It is also a fact this president has expanded the welfare state so much that now nearly half the households are receiving a government benefit. He has hired tens of thousands of government employees and wasted hundreds of millions on now bankrupt Solyndra.
He and his party demonize anyone with different ideas and ridicule those who want to cut spending.
Blaming Bush is also popular with the Democrats. In 2016 -- when the debt hits $22 trillion -- they will probably still be whining, "It's Bush's fault." And the Obama media will agree.
