Don't give pets as gifts that owners might reject

The holidays are fast upon us. There are catalogs in the mail. The shoppers channel is pushing holiday items. Of the gifts considered, the not giving of puppies and kittens should top the list.

Yes, they are cute as buttons. But they should only be given to individuals you know will keep them. Puppies and kittens are a commitment, not to be thrown out when they get older and the cuteness wears off.

If you wish to give gifts of this nature, the stores have synthetic fur animals of all breeds.

Let's make this a happy holiday for all of God's creatures.
