Don't vote for a senator who will embarrass Indiana

As a lifelong Democrat, I am proud to admit that I often voted for Sen. Dick Lugar, even if I disagreed with some of his positions on the issues. His decency and professionalism had me pleased that he represented Indiana well on the national stage.

Now I call on my Republican friends to reject Richard Mourdock's extreme views.

Pregnancy by rape should never be associated with God. Mourdock's extreme views will only bring ridicule to Indiana and remind all of us how much we will miss Lugar.

Come on, moderate Republicans, it is your duty to our great state to have a senator whom we might occasionally disagree with but will not embarrass us. You know you cannot say that about the extremist Mourdock!
