Ease restrictions, tax wealthy to ease nation's woes

February 05, 2012 12:00 am

Tom Vukelic says Romney and Gingrich want to cut Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. I believe it is Obama cutting $500 billion over 10 years from Medicare and reducing the payments to health care providers. Have fun trying to get an appointment if you are a Medicare patient.

Social Security can be saved by eliminating the $106,000 cutoff. I have written my representatives and senators about this and was told this is under consideration.

If Harry Reid would allow the 20 job-related bills passed by the House to be brought up for debate and Obama would allow the Keystone pipeline and offshore drilling to continue, maybe the jobless rate could get down to under 6 percent.

I think the rich, except for the job providers, should pay more, especially the pro athletes and movie and recording stars and especially CEOs of corporations.

If Vukelic is that rich, nothing is stopping him from cutting a check to the IRS. I am not that rich.
