The Chicago machine has redistricted us into new congressional and state districts, where much of the population lies in Chicago, to take away our voting voice. With the upcoming consolidated election, we as voters need to decide if we will give up or stand up against the Chicago machine.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg from New York invested $2-plus million in candidate Robin Kelly’s primary race to replace Jesse Jackson Jr. I intend to fight back and vote for candidates who will have our interests in mind and not that of others.

I encourage you to get out and vote on April 9 for the man who will fight the Chicago machine, Republican Paul McKinley. Let’s show the Chicago machine we intend to make a difference in who represents us.

- Judy Ogalla, STAND vice president, Monee
