Since Oct 1, I have spent hours on the Healthcare Marketplace website researching health insurance options. The offered health insurance coverage offered is a joke.
I am a 63-year-old self employed woman making just enough annually to eliminate me for any premium assistance. The absolute cheapest plan available to me would cost me 27 percent of my gross annual income. Not what I consider affordable.
So when Obama compared the cost of health insurance to a car payment he lied. My car payment isn't even half as expensive. He said we could keep our doctors/hospitals. Mine aren't in the network, so if I keep them I'll be paying more.
So tell me why I should pay more than $12,000 in premiums for healthcare insurance that will not benefit me with $1 in return. I'll happily pay the 1 percent penalty for not having coverage.
Research before you buy.
