Expanding voucher program will make life easier

I am writing to disagree with your recent editorial where you said legislators should not expand the school voucher program.

I would like to express my gratitude for the voucher program. I have six grandchildren whose father is unemployed. As you can imagine, even though their mother is working part-time they are finding it very difficult to just survive. We help them as much as possible, but the program will make it possible for the kindergartner to attend a school only a block and a half from their home next year.

We are hoping our twin grandchildren who are in preschool this year will be able to enroll in the voucher program when they are in first grade.
