Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson really shot herself in the foot by voting for the Illiana toll road. All that money could be used to upgrade the Gary/Chicago International Airport and surrounding area.

This could be used to entice the Boeing Co. to locate in Gary. This would provide permanent jobs to the local area, not temporary construction jobs which will most likely be filled by out-of-state nonunion people because this is a right-to-work state.

Think, taxpayers, when you have to subsidize this toll road and the "for sale" sign goes up on the Gary airport.
