As a divorced mother of a special needs daughter, I have found a wonderful place for learning and protection. It is called Accessibilities in Merrillville.

My daughter has attended Accessibilities since October 2012.

She is thriving there. She listens, she learns and is happy there -- and is protected. She previously attended Area Career Center, Skills for Like Class with a very special teacher and neighbor of ours.

All you people out there with special needs people, take a stand and help your children and yourselves. Watch out who you get your information from.

There are a lot of good people with good information for our kids. One special place is the Down's Syndrome Association of Northwest Indiana.
