I am not a hardcore Democrat. I vote for the person, not the party. Nor do I normally write letters to the editor, but I had to respond to Larry Rapchak’s laughable last paragraph in his letter.

He states President Barack Obama was re-elected due to “an irrational hatred of George W. Bush and the GOP ...” Well, evidently the GOP bears that hatred also, or at least look to Bush and Cheney as a major embarrassment for what they did to this country and the damage to the Republican Party.

Why weren't Bush and Dick Cheney at the convention? Could it be they would do more damage than good? They didn't even campaign. They were avoided like the plague.

The Republicans should stop complaining about Obama’s re-election. All they had to do was present a formidable candidate to win. They certainly had enough cash.
