The Hanover School Board has done a major disservice to the taxpayers by giving Superintendent Carol Kaiser a substantial amount of free money.
In 2010, the board gave Kaiser a "one-time stipend" of $5,000. The board turned right around the next year and gave Kaiser another "one-time stipend," only this time it was $12,000. This was irresponsible.
If the board has this much money to throw around for nothing in return, then it has no business cutting programs and charging student fees.
Kaiser should do the right thing and return the money so it can be used to benefit the students.
Furthermore, the board unwisely paid Justin Biggs $85,000, yet he had no principal experience when the board hired him.
The board then gave one of Kaiser's previous cohorts, Tony Hiatt, $87,000 for principal and technology duties of some kind. What was the board thinking?
