Having driver's license doesn't mean insurance

Sen. Frank Mrvan seems to believe allowing illegal immigrants to receive driver's licenses will ensure that they're driving with insurance. Mrvan needs to do his homework regarding the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

I am a fully insured driver, but I didn't need insurance to receive a driver's license. I was required only to provide insurance to register a vehicle in my name.

I have renewed my registration every year and am asked only, "Do you still have the same insurance?" My answer, "Yes." I am renewed.

The only time you are required to prove insurance is if you are involved in a motor vehicle accident.

Don't candy-coat giving licenses to illegal immigrants! And by the way, illegal is illegal! If I commit a crime, I expect to be prosecuted, which is why I don't commit crimes. Why are we letting illegal aliens commit a crime by being in the USA?
