As a mother and grandmother, I was deeply saddened with the recent events at the school in Newtown, Conn.

I suggest the government deploy the soldiers coming home from overseas as guards to secure and protect all of our schools. With appropriate equipment, they could monitor all people coming and going from our schools.

This should include decent pay and full benefits.
