On Aug. 7 this year, I was privileged to be selected to go on Honor Flight Chicago to Washington D.C. This flight is to honor WWII Veterans, to participate in a memorial service at the World War II Memorial and visit other historic sites. This was a day I will never forget.

I was overwhelmed by the sincere loving care and thanks by everyone in Washington and Chicago. The homecoming in Chicago is almost impossible to describe.

This was the 50th Honor Flight, yet there was never anything on television, radio or newspapers about it.

I will remember this day the rest of my life.
