Paul Hook's letter is an excellent example of why you can't have a rational debate with a liberal ideologue.
He starts out by stating my Aug.1 commentary about President Barack Obama's history of hypocrisy was more "fictitious than real". He then spends the rest of his letter refuting a contention I never made.
My essay cites numerous statements made by Obama criticizing President George W. Bush's policies and then goes on to document Obama's subsequent actions that either mirrored Bush's or went far beyond. One of numerous points I made was that although Obama was a vocal critic of Bush's troop surge in Iraq, Obama, once in office, implemented a surge of his own in Afghanistan.
Hook's letter ignores my point completely and goes off on a rant against an assumed support of the war which I never intimated.
Truth and logic are contrary to the sacred liberal orthodoxy, which is "Bush Bad, Obama Good."
