Horrified by changes in Indiana? Hoosiers share much of the blame

January 29, 2012 12:00 am

The Indiana state employees have themselves to blame when they allowed the governor to dismantle their union. At least Wisconsin state employees reacted and are attempting to recall their governor.

The Indiana teachers have themselves to blame when the state Legislature prevented "fair share" in master contracts. Fair share allowed local bargaining units to "charge" teachers for the union's bargaining costs if a teacher did not belong to the local bargaining unit. It is similar to right-to-work, which the Republican-led majority is trying to pass.

The parents and eligible students in Indiana have themselves to blame when they re-elected Gov. Daniels and elected the state superintendent of public instruction.

I know in the next election (local, state or national), I will have only myself to blame if I don't vote or if I don't investigate each candidate.
