In response to your Aug. 12 editorial, I want to go on record stating the opinion is wrong.

The editorial ignores facts stated by the CMAP analysis report and is elated by a greatly reduced “possible” boost to the gross regional product. It fails to mention all of that will benefit Illinois, not Indiana.

In an Aug. 6 meeting in the Will Township Community Center, a representative from the Illinois Department of Transportation said the Illiana Expressway was never designed to benefit anyone or any community from its construction. Growth and jobs would be no greater than without the road, and it will be a toll road built for Illinois truck terminals and warehouses.
