I found I agreed with conservative media

Every time I read a distorted attack on the GOP, I recall my own introduction to conservatism.

Why was anyone who disagreed with the supposedly tolerant liberals branded a hater, I wondered, until I learned that this is a specific leftist tactic, designed to intimidate their opposition.

Since I make my living in the arts, I was hesitant to explore conservative media, but soon found myself agreeing with most of what I heard, since it reflected my own middle-class values and upbringing: personal responsibility, achievement through hard work, voluntarily helping the needy (as opposed to the government's stealing from me and giving it away) and respect for America's founding documents and our precious individual liberty.

Thus, I decided it was worth the personal risk to defend our traditional values from the slick, dishonest, destructive agenda of the new, progressive Democratic Party.
