I guess I'll let government do my thinking for me

Will the new anti-smoking law really work? It has the earmarks of another "Big Brother" intrusion into the lives of people.

Why do we let the government tell a businessman how to run his operation? Will the welder who breathes smoke and particulate matter from grinding and cutting operations all day benefit? What about the people who work in the blast furnace and coke plants?

This is a nonattainment area for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Many people face health risks every day just doing their job. Will the "smoke police" issue citations for bad work conditions?

It will cost $1,000 for the first and second violations; the third will cost $10,000. Go to Chicago and get a ticket for possession of 15 grams of marijuana, and you will pay $100.

Oh well, so much for my rant. I guess I'll just let the government do my thinking for me since we've become a nation of whiners, wimps and lost values. Common sense is a rare commodity today.
